Velvet Assassin is a violent stealth action game set in German-controlled territory at the height of World War II. Players take the role of Violette Summer, a young woman who has lost everything to the war, and who now only seeks revenge against the Nazi regime that destroyed her world. Players can collect syringes to give the comatose Violette a morphine injection, which grants her extraordinary speed and accuracy in the action of her dream, and also causes her to appear in action wearing her hospital clothes. Velvet Assassin is based on the story of real-life Allied secret agent and recipient of the George Cross, Violette Szabo, who revealed the locations of crucial bombing targets and disrupted German communications following D-Day, before being captured, tortured, and eventually killed in the line of duty.

Tom Clancys HAWX (2009)

Developed by Ubisoft’s Bucharest Studio, HAWX lets you pilot more than 50 planes in dogfights across the sky. Set in 2012, HAWX imagines a world that has become increasingly dependant on private military companies (PMCs). With PMCs increasingly gaining power, we sit on the precipice of a global conflict. Sounds like a good enough reason to hop in your fighter jet and shoot down some bogies.

HAWX features an Enhanced Reality System (ERS), which is meant to make even the average pilot feel like Iceman. ERS includes radars, incoming missile detection, an anti-crash system, damage control system, tactical map, information relay, weapons trajectory control and allows players to give commands to their AI squadron. With the Assistance Mode flipped on, the ERS will put pilots into a maximum safety mode. Think of it like having all the assists turned on in a racing game. You get more freedom and control with Assistance Mode off, but you will also be at greater risk without the full protection of the ERS.

The Godfather II (2009)

After being promoted by Michael Corleone to Don of New York, players expand to new cities, as they build up their families through extorting businesses, monopolizing illegal crime rings and defeating new families in an effort to become the most powerful mob family in America. To help players manage their empire, The Godfather II introduces “The Don’s View” – an innovative strategy meta-game that allows players to oversee the entire world as they grow the family business. Using the Don’s View, players will be able to build, defend and expand their crime rings, while keeping an eye on the movements and plans of the rival families.
